A bit of optimism on display at recent PCG annual meeting

Plains Cotton Growers President Shawn Holladay provided a ray of optimism at the PCG annual meeting recently in Lubbock. “I see some good things in the farm bill. I think next year we will see more adoption of STAX than this year. We can’t judge a product on one-year’s expectation because we can’t outguess a county-wide program.”

He also said the family farm remains the backbone of American agriculture and that policy, weather and markets are all cyclical.

“This is not a 10-year problem; it’s a couple of years’ problem.”
