Ginning Lab Update

In an earlier version of the “Cotton industry: Gin lab closing proposal short-sighted, ill-conceived” article on this Web site, a quotation was incorrectly attributed to Dr. Ed Hughs, research leader at the Southwest Cotton Ginning Research Laboratory in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

The quote “Cutting those research labs represents short sighted cuts and long-term losses,” has now been deleted from the article.

As Hughs discussed the contributions the Las Cruces lab has made to the industry the writer incorrectly noted a remark from a bystander as a statement from Hughs. Southwest Farm Press regrets the error.
