RICE HARVEST is underway in California’s Sacramento Valley where 95 percent of the state’s crop is grown. Early harvest data suggests good yields and quality despite cool, wet spring growing conditions. Photo taken in Butte County at FJR Farms, owned by Frank Rehermann.
FRANK REHERMANN says, “It’s the best looking (rice) crop that I’ve ever had from one end of my operation to the other.”
ARKANSAS RICE producer Heath Long harvested a second crop this year that yielded 87 bushels per acre.
