Ag tech conference set for Dec. 9

The seventh annual Ag Technology Conference, scheduled Dec. 9 on the Texas A&M-Commerce campus, will feature a “crystal ball” look at the next 10 years in agriculture. “Our crystal ball panel will include industry leaders from Syngenta, DuPont, Monsanto and Bayer,” says Jim Swart, Extension IPM specialist at A&M Commerce and one of the organizers of the annual event. “They will discuss their vision of new developments in seed and agricultural chemicals over the next decade.”

Other agenda items include pond pest management, pasture weed identification and control recommendations, and an update on laws and regulations. Private applicators, commercial applicators, non-commercial applicators and certified crop advisors may earn five continuing education units.

Swart says regional agri-business representatives also will be on hand to discuss latest products and technology during a mini-expo. “The university faculty combo is back by popular demand to entertain with bluegrass music during the noon luncheon,” Swart says. For more information on the conference agenda or to request exhibit space (Requires a $100 sponsorship fee.) contact Swart at (903) 886-3291.

Sponsors for the conference include Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas Cooperative Extension Service and Cereal Crops Research Incorporated.
