Klinefelter receives award

Danny Klinefelter, Texas Cooperative Extension economist, has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Southern Association of Agricultural Scientists.

Klinefelter was recently recognized at the association's annual meeting in Orlando, Fla.

During his 27-year career, Klinefelter has developed nationally recognized management development programs targeting agricultural producers and executives. His contributions in undergraduate teaching were also considered in the award nomination.

"Dr. Klinefelter is truly deserving of this honor," said Mark Waller, associate department head of agricultural economics at Texas A&M University and program leader for Extension economics. "Danny has developed cutting-edge programs that have made an impact on agricultural producers across the country. These programs continue to help executives and producers with complex issues in today's agribusiness climate."

The Executive Program for Agricultural Producers, initiated in 1991, has attracted more than 800 agribusiness managers and agricultural producers.
