March snowfall leaves frustration, beauty in its wake

Heavy snow accumulations rarely occur in March in Texas. Anytime metropolitan areas get more than a flurry or two, businesses, schools and some agencies shut down.  Road crews spend hours in freezing temperatures salting and scraping the highways to get traffic moving again and unfortunate commuters often sit idle for hours at a time, hoping to get moving before the gas tank is empty. With all the disruptions, an unexpected snowfall also leaves a pristine beauty that no other weather event can rival.

After being cooped up for several days, I felt a need to take a short walk around the neighborhood and found these images to be worth braving the cold fto see.  One photo depicts the frustration of ice-bound traffic.
