Rice Miller's elect leaders for two years

The USA Rice Miller's Association (RMA) elected former vice chairman Mike LeGrande, Sun Valley Rice Co., Dunnigan, Calif., to be the association's chairman during the RMA convention in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii. The board also elected Mike Sandrock, Farmers' Rice Cooperative, Sacramento, Calif., as vice chairman.

The terms for the chairman and vice chairman have been changed from one year to two years. LeGrande and Sandrock will serve two-year terms beginning Aug. 1.

During his speech, outgoing chairman Gary Boddicker, Masterfoods USA, Greenville, Miss., welcomed the chairman and vice chairman-elect to their new posts.

β€œI'd like to thank the RMA board for this opportunity to serve as chairman, and for all their support. It's a great industry that we have the good fortune to work in, and you all make it that way,” Boddicker said.

In his first act as RMA Chairman, LeGrande presented Boddicker with a plaque from the RMA membership thanking him for his service to the organization. β€œIt is my privilege to commend you for your service and leadership this year,” LeGrande said.
