Sorghum group picks '02 officers

Kenneth Rose, a sorghum producer from Keyes, Okla., was elected to lead National Grain Sorghum Producers (NGSP) as national president during NGSP's winter board meeting. The meeting was in conjunction with the recent 2002 Sorghum Industry Conference in San Francisco.

Rose, who previously served as NGSP secretary-treasurer, has been on the NGSP board of directors for eight years.

Dan Krienke of Perryton, Texas, was elected vice president for domestic market development; Dale Artho of Wildorado, Texas, was picked to another term as vice president for foreign market development, and Greg Shelor of Minneola, Kan., was elected vice president for research.

James Vorderstrasse from Hebron, Neb., was elected vice president for legislation; and Gerald Simonsen of Ruskin, Neb., secretary-treasurer.

Leo Bindel, of Sabetha, Kan., will serve the organization as past president.
