The farmers and ranchers in Texas affected by Hurricane Harvey continue to sort through their mess. More than 1.2 million beef cows in area declared disaster in Texas. The floodwaters were almost all fresh water, which means less long-term damage to pastures in Texas, which is good news.

There is yet another survey out on how our country has changed. The share of people who identify as white and Christian has dropped below 50%. White Christians comprise 43% of population; 40 years ago 8 in 10 Americans were white Christians.
