Farm bill must be comprehensive, Chairman says

The next farm bill must be comprehensive, allowing all commodities to participate, or it will not be a true farm bill, says house Agriculture Committee Chairman Frank Lucas, R-Okla. Lucas, in a press briefing following his prepared remarks at last week’s Southern Peanut Growers’ Conference, said a good farm bill “allows everybody to participate. I understand the perspectives of various regions,” Lucas said.
